Hiiii-dee-ho strangers!

I think I'm a bit behind on the 'cracked nail' craze. Yesterday, I discovered the new Barry M Nail Effects polish and was instantly curious.

Has anyone tried it out? What base colours do you reckon will look best with the matte black? My mum bought me a bottle today while she was out shopping so I'm going to try it out tonight! I'll report back :-D

I've only worn my Henry Holland mock stock tights once and I can't find them ANYWHERE since.
WAAA!
I'm so annoyed with myself, I'm worried that I've thrown them out by accident!

BUT fear not, because I've ordered myself a pair of these bad boys...

HOW CUTTEEEEE are they?! Even better then the HH ones I think.

Mattefied Gun Grey - Models Own

This is how I had my nails for the Beautiful Kelly & Kit's wedding.

Models Own Gun Grey, with a matte top coat and then my usual stripe and dot artwork in gold and blue. Nothing too fancy, just something easy.
I hope you like.

The images make the polish look kind of like a brown colour (sorry, the lighting was rubbish!!!), but the most true representaion of the colour is below. It's gorgeous.

Mattefied Purple Grey - Models Own

When I returned from holiday I had my three packages waiting for me!! YAAAAAY! The best kind of post...

and I jumped straight on the Models Own box to get hold of my new nail varnish!!

I've had peacock green on my nails for the past week but today I did a fresh mani, and I wanted to show you this look. This is Models Own Purple Grey.

Now, I've been after China Glaze's 'Matte Magic' for aaaageesss, but I never got around to buying it. Then I noticed that TopShop sold a Matte topcoat, so I thought I'd give that a whirl.
After applying the Purple Grey, I added my TopShop Matte topcoat. I've done before and after shots below, because you have to see it's AWESOMENESS! -

I love love looooooovvveeeee the Purple Grey as a matte colour - even though it really shows the imperfections.
The TopShop Matte polish works like a dream! I'd definitley recommend you going out and purchasing some...NOW! It's such a great way to transform a colour.

AND, I've just had an e-mail from E.L.F saying they now do a Matte topcoat. Hmmmmm It's only £1.50 so might be worth trying this one out first!

I love my left wrist, it's really colourful and pretty!
I've got a lot of permanent bracelets that I've collected from holidays, but recently I also purchased some colourful bracelets to add to the collection.

I painted my nails with OPI's summer flutter 'flit a bit' orange! It's beautiful, and after a few days I added a top coat of Barry M's pink glitter (I can't remember the number - sorry!) and it stayed on for days and days! I was really impressed.

I also wanted to show you my Disney Couture 'Alice In Wonderland' Teacup Ring that the beautiful Charlotte got me for my Birthday. So cute :-) The photo quality isn't brilliant, but it has a spoon and even says 'tea time' on the side of the cup!

Lee Stafford - Sea Salt Spray

I've wanted to try out the Bumble & Bumble sea salt spray for ages now, but I've never gotten around to actually ordering some.
Then, when I was looking at some other Lee Stafford products, I came across this product and decided to try it as a cheaper alternative.
It cost me £5.99 from Boots.

I love the beach babe look, and this texturizing spray does the job well.
Just like all Lee Stafford products, it smells absolutley devine too.
Yuuummm!

After using this for the first time, I went out in an open top car, so I whacked it up to avoid getting knotts... and it looked like this.

It's a great product for summer, especially if you're going abroad and don't want to take your straighteners. It gives natural waves a luscious kick.
Spray, scrunch, go go gooooo!

Inspiration for my nails came from a post on THIS site. They're prettttyyy rubbish, but I mixed the colour myself :-) and it went a bit manky, so I blame the texture/ consistency of the polish!

Nice'n'(not so)Easy

Goood day to you!

Since I've been blonde, I've been a regular user of nice'n'easy hair dye.
The light ash blonde 102 was the shade that I used.
After I used it to do my whole head, I'd use the same product to touch up my roots every 6-8 weeks.

I went into boots last week to pick up some more, but I discovered that they'd changed the packaging and the formular.

How different are these two colours?!

All the models on the boxes have been replaced, and the shade that I usually go for, had a model with dark almost pinky blonde hair?!
I didn't think that my hair would come out the right colour if I used this, so I went for the next shade up. It was 88 - Natural ultra light ash blonde.

My roots went ginger :-(

Saaad sad times.
So I did a bit of research, and found out on THIS review site, that a lot of girls were having the same problem!
As one of them said, why fix something that's not broken?!

Sooo now, it's two days before my birthday, and my hair no longer matches the extensions I bought..
AAAHHH!
Off to boots again today to try and find a different dye...
wish me luck!!

Happy Monday y'aalll!

I read in the August issue of Glamour, that Jaeger are launching a Boutique by Jaeger range!
Exciting stuff.
I went to the WEBSITE to have a nosey, and discovered the range isn't Launching until August 2010.
Only a few weeks to wait now!

So I did a quick Google search, and found out that the range is targeted at the 18-30 market, and will be 30-50% cheaper then the Jaeger main line.
I'm quite looking forward to checking out the accessories and pretty dresses. Very 60's.

Polka nails

Good evening lovelies!

I've had a fabulous evening tonight. I am now in the advanced pole calss which is a bit later on, so I painted my nails before I left :-)
Now, after a brilliant session, I feel super stretched (and a little bruised) but I love it so much! I'd recommend pole dance to anyone!

So here are the polka dot/ glitter tip nails.

[Two coats of Nailene french manicure white. For the purple tips, a layer of clear polish along the tip and then simply dip the nail in the glitter.]

Denim look harems and NOTD

These trousers are deliciously comfortable!

They look like jeans but the material is actually cottony and very light. So a lot cooler then denim.
I prefer to wear them with the elastic bottoms tucked up to just under my knees but they are super tight so it cuts off my circulation after a while.

The best bit... they cost me just £11 from Primark.

Also sporting (and LOVING) OPI's absolutley alice on my tootsies atm.

They look gorgeous with flip-flops or sandles in the sunshine. All sparkly :-)

Last sunday I went to Wireless festival at Hyde Park.

It was amaaazing! Had such a lovely day with the girls.

Their feet got sooo filthy!! (mine were fine because I had my worker boots on - LOVE IT!)

Cargo LashActivator Mascara - 30 day update

This post is looong overdue... Sorry!

And I'm sad to say that it wasn't really worth the wait... my lashes don't look much different to me!

You can see from the pics that the mascara smudges very easily, and gets all over my eyelid! I don't have this problem usually.

30 days is a very short period of time to make a dramatic difference, so I'll continue to use the products to use them up and see if over time they work their magic.

On another masraca related note, I LOVE Lancome. Enough said.

Dry lips

I'm currently suffering with dry lips. Bit weird for this time of year?! But I've been using these products to help moisturise them :-)

Benefit's Dr Feelgood 'lipscription' - two tubes. One has exfoliating beads in it, and the other has silky lip balm in.

I looove this product. It does work.

Then for a touch up during the day (becuase you can't scrub your lips in public, it's messy!) I've been using the Paul & Joe lip balm from my Alice in Wonderland set.

My camera is on charge so had to settle for webcam pics today!
Off to get the hair trimmed now.

Vertical Fitness

For the last 12 or so weeks, I've been having pole dancing lessons. Not to be sexy (although I think it is) but to keep toned, fit and to have a laugh.

It's not as easy as it looks. I come away with bruises, and I ache for the next day or so, but it's sooo worth it! I love it so much that I got my own pole.

I'd recommend it to anyone of any shape or size.

So here's a few of the moves, tricks, spins that I've learnt (not easy to capture yourself spinning with a 10 second self timer!!).

Animal madness

Somehow, this little fella, lets call him Milo, made his way off of these brightly coloured 'Accessorize' bracelets onto my old shabby cheapo holiday bracelet.
Maybe he wanted a bit of camoflage? Or some time out from his fellow cow/ camel/ lion (?!)
The transition happened whilst the bracelets were on my wrist!

I spent the weekend shopping, skating, running, sunbathing and BBQing with the family. It was a goooorgeous sunny weekend, and I spent far too much money but had a wonderful time.

Weekend nails

The beautiful Charlotte Jane showed me this awesome nail blog, and after browsing the site and getting inspired I decided to re-do my nails using one of the tutorial videos.

This is how they turned out. Pretty lusssh I think! Some came out better then others but not bad for my first try. I decided to add a splatter of pink to my middle fingers too, but I think I prefer them without.
I would love to get the splat stamp plate from the Konad set. Might have to treat myself.

Cargo LashActivator Mascara - 15 day update

I can't really say I've seen an improvement in my lashes but I don't expect to after such a short period of time. I will keep going with the applications until I run out. I'll do a 30 day update too :-)

Inspiration

I wouldn't be able to tell you why, but I had kept most of my issues of Cosmpolitan magazine since I got my first copy in 2006. That's almost 3 and a half years worth of magazines.
I finally decided what I was going to do with them... re-create my 'photo wall' as an inspiration wall.

It didn't take me as long as I thought it would, and I'm really happy with the results. I've run out of pins, so I've got a LOT more pictures stacked up ready to put in place once I get hold of some more!

I work in publishing, and so have been working with adverts for the last two and a half years. So when I was flicking back through the mags and looking at the ads, I noticed how different they are from today's!
There are some minor changes... for instance the models in fake tan ads are a lot more 'orange' and fake looking then they are now. Now that we all want a more natural bonzed look and the ads match. Weird how people used to think it was nice to look like an oompa loompa!

Would you buy these products now if you saw these ads in your mag?!

Look at the size difference too...

There were also a lot more food ads back in 2006/07! Weird haha!
Vern is the only man to appear on the cover of Cosmo!

Race for life

Today I ran 5k for Cancer Research.

Sadly, my Grandad is fighting a losing battle with cancer so I did this for him.

It took me 33 minutes which I'm so proud of, and I've raised £155 through sponsorship.

Lancôme Hypnose Mascara

This is a cut out from one of my issues of Cosmopolitan magazines. It's from 2005, which means that Lancôme Hypnose Mascara has been the best mascara around for 5 years now! Possibly even longer.
(it also means I need to chuck out a LOT of magazines!)

I'm looking forward to trying out the new Hypnose Precious Cells mascara (advertised by Julia Roberts!) as the Drama works really well for me. Have you tried it yet?

Go and try out the Lancôme Hypnose mascaras if you haven't already!

OPI Ink - Suede

My new favourite polish!!!

Not to be confused with the original OPI ink.

I love love LOVE this nail polish.

It's not even just that I like the colour, it's the finish on it. It's a matte, but not a dull matte, a sparkly kind of sheer one. It's absolutley beautiful.

The little tag that comes on the bottle says not to apply a top coat so that you get the effects of the 'suede' look and feel of the colour.

It also states that it does not wear as long as the normal OPI nail lacquer. I didn't think this would be a massive problem, but after just 5 or so hours, my nails looked like this!!!!!!!!

Woaaah. Annoying? yes. But I love it so much that I don't actually mind re-applying this a few times a week!

I did a blog search on the product after I'd bought it, and saw that a few people went ahead and added a top coat anyway. It still looks gorgeous, so I might add a top coat next time.

I reeeeallly need to get my hands on China Glaze Matte Magic!! Then my nails will look lovely for longer. I would also love to get my hands on We’ll Always Have Paris Suede. *drool*.

Not exactly a spring/ summer colour, but gorgeous nonetheless!

Cargo LashActivator Mascara

I've been looking into buying Lilash for a while now, and although I've seen enough proof that the product does work, I still can't bring myself to spend over £100 on a tiny tube!!

So before I do give in and buy myself some, I wanted to try out a cheaper alternative.

I'm not expecting miracles from this product, but there are a lot of positive reviews on the Boots website which you can read here and here.

I thought I'd give it a go!

On the box it says:
Proven longer and thicker lashes in just 15 days.
This is using the Mascara during the day, and the primer at night. EVERY day and night for 15 days.

I'm going to go with the advice on the box, and use the LashActivator Mascara (£19) during the day, and the LashActivator Extreme (£23) primer at night.

For full results you're supposed to use the products for at least 30 days. So here goes, lets hope it works!!

My eczema has flared up again due to stress, so I took some time out to chill and try and cheer myself up.
What better way then watching Glee and painting my nails?
NB: I'm sure there are much better ways, but that's the best I could do on a Monday evening!

So I'm not too happy with the outcome of this mani, it looked a lot better in my head! It's come out a bit too cutsey and girly. I guess it just doesn't reflect ME at the moment.
I used OPI's Plugged-In Plum, and the mini version of OPI's A Grape Fit.

Added a few dots on after with my rio pens, just for fun :-)

'scuse the mess! The pics were taken at night with flash, and then in the morning without flash.How different do the colours look?! To me, in real life, they are a plum purple, and a lilac purple. Just as they should be.

My journey back to blonde

Firstly, I have to say that I would not recommend to anyone dying your hair blonde from dark brown/ red. It really isn't good for you hair, and you have to walk around with multicoloured hair for a while before you can re-dye!

This is my story...!

A year ago I was blonde, and then decided to do this...

Dark brown with blonde chunks in it.

Then throughout the past year it's been several different dark colours.

But each time it faded so quickly and my blonde was showing though.

I decided that if my hair wanted to be blonde, then I should let it...!!! And I wanted a change haha! Fresh start and all that...

Sooo back in February, I went for it, and this is what happened....

EEeekkkk!! I know!! Awful. Not exactly what I had planned but there you go. STUPID idea! I did warn you.

With the dye on my hair. You can see that it took to my roots really well, but the main body...not so much!

When I took the towel off my head...

AAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!

This is what it looked like dry.

There are so many different colours in there! Orange, yellow, WHITE?!

Then I put a Nice n Easy shade 102 Light Ash Blonde over and it looked ok (with a hat!!!) but just look at the awful condition of my hair!!

I've put on so many products, a lot of them saved my hair. I talked about Aphogee a little while ago, and I've been putting on LOADS of serum everyday, using over night treatments, and lots of other products too.

The colour has gotten a lot nicer over the last month or so. I've dyed it the Ash Blonde colour again since as my roots were showing and that helped to take out some of the orange tones that were left.

But this week for the first time I've felt that I've got the shine back in my hair, and I'm not too scared to brush it!

My latest shampoo and conditioner combination is.... DUN DUN DUUUNNNN

[Hair about a week ago]

The violet shampoo is making a different to the colour of my hair. You can see that it is a LOT less orange.
I LOVE IT!

And after leaving on the conditioner for a good 20 mins my hair feels so silky and soft.

I've still got a little way to go but I'm slowly getting there!

Removal of eye make up!

I have two tester sized bottles of eye make up remover - No7 Cleanse & Care and Lancôme Bi-Facil.

I've used both and thought I'd do a short review to compare the two.

Both products got off my eye make up throughly, so they both do the job they were made to do.

No 7 - 100ml £7
If you get the No7 product in your eye (and lets face it most of us will get a teeny bit in, after all, we are removing EYE make up!) it STINGS!
Not so much that you have to rinse out your eye, but enough to make you close it really tightly and wince a bit!
It didn't sting the outside of my eye though. This is important to me as my eyes are overly sensitive!

Lancôme - 125ml £19.50
The Lancôme product doesn't irritate the eye at all, inside or out. It smells lovely too - bonus!
After using the Lancôme product, I was left with a sort of greasy residue on my face (they say it doesn't leave one behind?!) BUT I saw this as a GOOD thing because it felt moisturising and I have dry skin. People with oily skin might not like this. I think I needed to shake the bottle a bit more before using though!
It sinks in quite quickly and leaves the eye area clean and soft.

The No7 didn't dry out my skin, but I did feel like I needed to apply moisturiser where as I didn't with the Lancôme product.

So out of the two I do prefer the Lancôme product, but for a cheaper alternative the No7 does the job just as well :-)

OPI's 'Summer Flutter' collection, and Orly's 'Viva' collection are both available from May 2010.

Orly Viva - Ole, La Playa, Bailamos, Fiesta

Surprisingly, the blues from the collections appeal to me the most. I love them!
I think they will look amazing on fingers and toes with a sexy tan. I can't wait for some sun!
The orange colours are also very warm, bright and fun. I'm not too worried about picking up the pink colours though. I think a lot of bright pinks are too similar!

What do you think of the two collections, which do you prefer?

I still need to pick up the Orly sweet spring colours first, EEEEK!

Bedroom Mannequin

I've wanted a full length/ free standing mannequin for my bedroom for a looong time now.

This is the goooorgeous one I've been drooling over for around a year now....

It looks even more beautiful in real life, and I know that it would look amazing in my room!

It can be bought from Changing Rooms, Harlow. They do some other amazing bits in there too.

The only thing with this one is that it might be a bit too pretty?!
Because I wouldn't want to dress it up and that kind of ruins the whole point of having a mannequin!
Maybe I should get two... :p haha! Ok, maybe not.

The vintage ones are beautiful too, but they're going for around £250. I might have to go to a nice flea market soon and find myself a bargain.

Palmer's Swivel Stick

Back in August last year I purchased Palmer’s cocoa butter 'Swivel Stick' and loved it straight away. See post here!
I finally finished it last week so got myself another one.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from dry skin or dry lips. It works wonders and is the right size for everyday bags AND evening bags!
It smells nice too and is full of vitamin E. My skin looooves vitamin E!
For me, this product lasted 8 months with regular use. What a beauty.

It was also great as acting as a barrier against the cold wind in the winter months. This helps to stop the skin drying out in the first place.

For £2.69 you can't go wrong. Definitely give it a go :-)

My first attempt at water marble - WOW!

Good evening!

I had a really great time tonight experimenting with marble water nails.
It's so much fun!!! Every nail turns out different.

I've not QUITE got the hang of it yet, and my nails need a serious tidy up, but I wanted to show you all how they turned out!!

Try it yourselves, it's great :-)

I was inspired by Colette at My simple little pleasures you should deff check out her blog.
Colette does you tube video tutorials on how to create this look.

White base

Tape around the finger to protect your skin

Drops of polish in room temperature water

Swirl it all around, or create the pattern you want with a toothpick

Dunk your finger in! Use the toothpick to take away the excess polish

Slowly pull your finger out.

Haha I got lazy and didn't tape up all my nails. I wouldn't recommend it because it's NOT easy to clean up after, but I loved the effect it had on my skin as well as my nails!!

The end results:

Not at all bad for my first go! I will try and get better at this, I love the look!

Wednesday's combo

I don't think I've done a post on OPI's 'Blue My Mind' yet.

It's one of my absolute favourites. It's a gorgeous royal blue color, and it dries with a shiny finish.
Only two coats are needed too which is brilliant!

I'm also sporting the much loved Gosh velvet touch lippy in 'Darling' today :-)
What more could one wish for on a Wednesday.
Oh and Happy Birthday to my Mum! Mmm cake!

OPI's 'sit under the apple tree'

I love the look of this polish in the bottle. It's a gorgeous yellow/ green shimmer.
But on the nails it's more of a yellow gold. I don't like it very much, how disappointing.

I put on about 6 coats on one nail as an experiment to see if the green colour comes out if there is more coverage.
There was more of the green tint showing, but it's still not doing it for me!

On the plus side, the brush is amazing! It's a ProWide one, so it gives much better coverage. Nice smooth glide.

I couldn't get a decent picture of this. I wanted to show how great the colour looks in the bottle, but then how it looks on the nail.
I saw lipglossiping.com had the perfect picture (although her image shows the colour matte rather then with the shimmer).
I read her review on the polish, and she doesn't like this colour either!

I'd love a gorgeous green colour for summer. Any suggestions?

Lush Shampoo - Daddy-O
& ApHogee

I went into Lush the other weekend intending to check out the solid 'blonde' shampoo. The lady in the shop said lots of blondes swear by Daddy-O shampoo to keep out the brassy tones, so I bought this instead.

I've only used it a couple of times, so I can't really say it's made a massive difference to the colour of my hair, but hopefully it will help take out the last of the orange tones!!
I did have to use a shed load of conditioner after using this but that is probably because my hair is really dry already, not because the shampoo made it unmanageable.

After I went back to blonde, my hair was really suffering. I did some research, and decided to give some of the ApHogee products a go.
I'm so glad I did. I've been using ApHogee shampoo for damaged hair, and their keratin 2 minute reconstructor once a week. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with bleach blonde or over processed hair.
It's amazing!

Roots and Sculpture sell their products and for a really good price.

I'm going to try the ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer next.

Mid week outfit

Today I've been told I look like I'm going camping, but someone else said that I look like Lara Croft...hmm, what do you think?!
I think it's the mix of soft neutral colours with the shorts and socks that encouraged the comments!

Worker Boots & OOTD

Two weeks ago when I did my boots post [click here to see] I decided that I couldn't wait any longer, and so instead of browsing and drooling over the shoes, I just ordered some!
Not just one pair though, two!

I LOVE the River Island beauts, but I decided that I should get the two pairs from shoefashionista.com for the same price!
Only I got the heeled pair in black instead of the grey/brown colour.
You can see the heeled pair in my outfit post from last Friday. I loveeeees them! So pretty with skirts and dresses this S/S.

I've been wearing the flat worker boots a lot more though. My new favourite :-) I can't wait to wear them to the festivals this year with short shorts, loose shirts and lace bodies.

This is what I wore today. Someone shouted out their van 'Are you as dodgy as you look???!!!'

When I first saw this colour online, I actually OMG'd!!!!

A beautiful holographic silver.

The colours are amazing, and so I put it on my wishlist!
Then the lovely Skully sent me a bottle of it as part of my Valentines pressie.

I'm not usually a 'silver' polish kinda person (unless it's glitter!) but I am actuualllyyyyy in LOVE with this polish! It dazzles me everytime the colours catch in the light. Plus it dries REALLY quickly! Fabulous.

Today is Monday Greens... It doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it!

My friend Katy and I decided that we would wear GREEN to work today.

I got lots of compliments wearing this dress, and it only cost me about £10 from Primark a couple of summers ago!
Love it.

I did my eyes green too, using my Alice in Wonderland urban decay pallet.
The colours I used are Vorpal and Absolem.

Also teamed it with my new favourite lippy combo!

I love these two together.
They match my cheapo pink sunglasses! (aaaand pout!!!)

AND they're both small enough to carry around in the littlest of bags :-) YAY!

Great! I'm all set to go! I got OPI's Banana Bandanna for Christmas.
It's from OPI's SUNBelievavle Collection, and is a pale yellow creamy colour. It does need 3 coats to get a nice coverage but it's so cute and buttery I love it!

Green Tea Bath

Haha! How gross does this look?!
Ewww, brown coloured bath water!

I've been drinking Green tea for a while now, and I was reading some articles on it online, and read that Green tea baths are supposed to be good for you.
So I tried it out... I put 10 teabags in my bath while the hot water was running.

Green tea is known for it's detoxifying properties, so bathing in it can draw out harmful toxins from your body and heal any open wounds or sores you may have.
I quite like the smell of green tea so that didn't bother me, and the teabags I used have a hint of lemon in them too.
These bags were given to me by someone at work and all 50 of them have to be used up by April 2010 so I thought I'd get rid of a few at once!!

It didin't sting or irritate my sensitive skin so it didn't do me any harm. Not sure if i actually benefitted from it but I'd probably do it again!

Just be warned that it will STAIN the bath!

I had one of the most rubbish weeks last week. I wont go into detail and bore you all, but I was pretty sad by Friday, and then on Saturday morning just as I was about to leave to visit my dad the lovely post woman handed me a Parcel.
YAYAYAYAY!!!!

How excited was I? I squealed with delight haha and that was BEFORE I'd even opened it!
I knew that it was my secret valentines swap pressie (because no one else sends me nice presents!).

So I opened it as soon as I got to my dads and WOW! I was sooooo excited!

The first thing I did was put on one of the Hello Kitty band aids haha! Soo cute!

Then I put a coat of the SEXIEST nail polish on (over the top of my OPI absolutley alice, so that's why the texture is weird!) but OMG how GORGEOUS is this?!!?! EEEEEK! It's been on my wish list for a while.

(It's China Glaze's 'OMG' incase anyone is wondering) It's like a holographic silver and in the light the rainbow colours glimmer of it. I LOVE IT! I'll do a proper NOTD with it soon. How exciting!

Gossip girl collection heads to Miss Selfridge

Well sexy people, here is some exciting news for you!

Today, I read that Warner Bros have signed a deal with Miss Selfridge which will mean a launch of an amazing collection of Gossip Girl dresses.

Miss Selfridge has made a collection of eight dresses based on the styles of the four female lead characters
Serena van der Woodsen
Blair Waldorf
Jenny Humphrey
and Vanessa Abrams.

The collection - which wlll include a leopard print boho maxi dress and a black body con bandage dress among other items - will launch in Miss Selfridge stores nationwide and online from the end of April.
Prices start from £39.

Lets hope they will be better then the Hed Kandi dresses, I personally wasn't too impressed with them!

NOTD: OPI Plugged-In Plum

I haven't done a NOTD for a while now so I thought I'd share my latest look with you all.

I have used my OPI Plugged-In Plum polish.
You can tell by the name that this is a 'plum' colour polish. It's quite a sophisticaed colour I think! But in certain lights, it can look quite pinky.

I have a couple of photos below where I used the flash on my camera, so you can see what I mean.

My nails are still short, even though the no scratching thing isn't really working for me!

I also tried another experiment with my Rio nail art pens here.
I used the gold metallic colour to do some flicks from the corners of my nails.

I love the contrast between the two colours :-)

Classic VW Bug

After seeing Valentines Day at the cinema on Saturday (which, by the way, you should all go and see!) I am in love with the classic VW beetle!
Emma Roberts looked so cool (and a bit small?!) driving this around!! I'm so jealous.

How amazing are these cars?!

DIY Valentines card

Here's a very simple step-by-step guide to making your own Valentines card!
I gave this example one to my Mum! Haha!

Firstly, fold your paper into three sections. I usually do a consentina fold.

Then re-arrange the paper so the paper looks like this.

Then draw a heart shape on the front of the card

Stick your scissors through the centre of the picture, through two layers of paper.

Then cut out the heart shape. Go round a second time if you need to to make sure that there's no pen outline showing.

Then get two heart shapes and a piece of string. For the hearts, you can use paper, but I'm using foam hearts that I got from The Range!

Place the string over the centre of one heart, and put glue all over it then place the second heart on top and leave to dry (for the quickness of this example I have used tape to hold the two hearts together!

Then open the first flap of the card,

and tape the string at the top and bottom of the cut out heart (on the middle section), ensuring that the string runs through the centre, and that there is enough 'bounce' so the hearts on the string and spin around.

Then glue the flap down so it looks like a normal card.

Topshop Make up

For those who haven't heard, Topshop are launching a fashion make-up range in 2010.

I've read that the products are due to launch in March and that the makeup range is rumoured to be from the makers of MAC!!
I've also heard that Kate Moss is behind the products, so we should expect smokey eye products.
Who knows what to believe?!

Does anyone have any further information on this?! I'd love to know!

Even if the above rumours aren't true, I'm looking forwad to seeing and testing out Topshop's exciting new range.
There will be products for eyes, lips and nails starting from £5, and they will be updated four times a year.

Lilash or Enormous Lash?

I need your help ladies! What one to go for?

I've been looking into eyelash growth, as my lashes are poker straight and not very long at all.
I soooo want to buy Lilash or Enormous Lash, but with international shipping, they come to £100!!!!!! I can honestly say I don't mind paying the price if the product will 100% work for me.

I have VERY sensitive eyes so don't want any side effects or reactions. Eeeek!
Are there any other eyelash products that have worked for you?
The Loreal serum looks fairly good?!

I've also been looking at hair growth products. My hair is taking foreverrr to grow!! The one I've bought is the lee stafford hair growth treatment. Has anyone had any success with this?
I'm happy to give it a go although I'm not puting my hopes into it.

I have lots of lovely new clothes and things to show you, but I haven't got the pictures sorted yet! Sorrryyyy!
So I thought I'd do something a bit different... a book review!

Trust Marian
Marian Keyes - The Brightest Star In The Sky

I am a massive fan of Marian Keyes. I think she writes incredibly well. She always makes her characters so loveable, and the plot very much worth reading. I think it's great that the books are set mostly in Ireland! This particular book brings a bit of Marian herself into the story - she relates to Maeve.

I've just finished reading the latest MK book, and while I was reading I couldn't quite make up my mind about it. The writing style of this book is very different to anything MK has written before so it did take me by surprise, but not in a bad way. In the end though, it left me with a great feeling of hope. That's good enough for me!

I did enjoy reading the book, and I did want to keep turning the pages, but as there was quite a lot going on with all the sub plots, I sometimes got very easily distracted from reading!
There are some funny moments, and the book has made me use the word 'glum' a lot more" (what a great word!) but there are serious 'scenes' too. Perhaps a weird combination? MK done it very well. (TRUST MARIAN! - as the slogan goes)

1. The setting is 66 star Street, Dublin. At this location, there are 4 flats, each occupied by very different characters.
2. The book is a countdown of days, but does have a couple of two or three year flashbacks. Be sure to read the chapter titles so you don't get confused!!
3. There are many characters in this book. They all have their own very different lives, but as they live so close to eachother, they all intertwine at some stage.
4. The plot— there is a mysterious narrator who is invisible to the characters in the book. The narrator tells us how the characters are feeling, and how their bonds are connected with eachother.
I wont spoli the book for those who want to read / are currently reading the book by going on further!

I guessed who the mysterious narrator was from the very beginning. There is a massive clue at the start of the book! But that didin't ruin it for me, if anything it helped me to understand what was going on better.
I would recommend this book for a fun, light read that will keep you guessing.

NEVER underestimate the power or SUDOCREM!!

Seriously....

It is made for Nappy Rash as it's an Antiseptic Healing Cream.

But a lot of people also use it for
Acne Treatment
Cuts and grazes
SoresBurns/ Sunburn

I use this on my eczema.
Some people might find it quite drying, but it gets rid of the inflamation and redness almost instantly. It's best to wear at night as it's a thick white paste.
Wash off in the morning and MOISTURISE WELL with your normal moisturiser. Then, the skin will (hopefully) be almost healed! Mine is getting there... slowly. Sudocrem has helped me feel and look better the past few weeks so I wanted to sing it's praises!

For a quick fix, you can use it on your face mixed in with moisturiser to get rid of some of the redness. Just pleaseee avoid the eye area.

Another plus, if you run out of white face paint you can use this haha! But it would get a bit messy...! :-)

Word of warning...DO NOT GET SUDOCREM IN YOUR EYES.
Oh My Goshness, it will STING like a biiiiiaatcchh!

The pictures aren't brilliant, but you can kind of see the purpley tones in it. I love it. It's much better :-)

It also looks red in some lights. Muti-tones hair. AWEEESOMEEEEE.

I love it.

It takes 120 film too. Old styleee! It's vintagey looking but with the modern cute twist. It's lo-fi and I'd lurrrrve to experiment with the colourrs too.

*sigh*

I don't think it's too expensive either, but I don't know enough about using film really.
